9 Ways to Get a Jumpstart & Make 2025 Transformational

Some of us like to make vision boards, others write a list of “New Year’s Resolutions”. Regardless of your approach, this is a great time of year to sit down and reflect, to celebrate this year’s wins and to get crystal clear on changes you may want to make in the coming year. As I was reflecting myself, I jotted down 9 ways to get started now rather than waiting until January 1st to implement changes.

1) Curate your social media

Unfollow any pages that distract you, make you feel less than, or just aren’t in alignment with the life you desire. This includes celebs, gossip pages, and people from your hometown you don’t vibe with anymore. Instead, follow self-empowerment pages, wellness accounts, special interests, and growth-focused content. Engage with what inspires you so you see more of it.

2) Reprogram your algorithms

Start searching for positive content on social platforms and Google. Look up topics like self-care practices, morning and nighttime routines, holistic health tips, meditations, mindset shifts, fasting, and anything else that supports your growth. Let the ether know you’re making a shift. Remember, algorithms reflect what you think about, search for, and engage with—so make it good stuff.

3) Block the negativity

From weird energy to plain old drama and negativity - If someone or something consistently makes you feel bad or simply doesn’t sit well with you, unfollow or block them, or set firm boundaries. Period. Boundaries are key to a better life, and this includes digital spaces. If you feel guilty, remember: it’s not about being “nice”—it’s about protecting your peace. Choose YOU.

4) Clean House

Donate or toss items that no longer bring you joy. Deep clean. Take it on one room at a time. Scrub the tub, dust hard to reach places, wipe down door frames and window seals, clean out the fridge, toss expired pantry goods, organize closets, add decor and items that make you feel good, get some houseplants. To be frugal, you can ask friends for plant cuttings to propagate, and thrift used decor items that speak to you (be sure to cleanse before adding to your space). Smudge your home counter-clockwise with sage and clockwise palo santo, light an incense, and rearrange to get stagnant energy moving.

5) Assess Your Habits

Which of your habits are no longer serving your highest good? Cut ‘em out. Decide which positive habits you’d like to implement, and start now.. no need to wait for January. Adopt supportive habits like grounding outside, exercising, journaling, meditating, eating nourishing foods, stretching, and regularly reaching out to connect with loved ones. Focus on mastering one new habit at a time. They’re the foundation for creating the life you want. They’re the structure that supports your highest good even when you “don’t feel like it.” Discipline + consistency = transformation.

6) Create a feel-good playlist

Make a go-to soundtrack filled with uplifting songs or calming frequencies to listen to daily or when you need a little pick-me-up. Skip anything low-frequency (sorry, gotta let the sad R&B songs, shoot-up-the-opps rage rap and tear-in-my-beer country music go while you’re trying to elevate). Music has power—choose sounds that really lift your spirit and put you in a good mood.

7) Write affirmations

Craft 5-10 personal affirmations like “I am worthy of love and abundance” or powerful ASKfirmations like “Why am I so healthy?” “Why am I so peaceful?” and “How do joy and success always find me?” You get the gist. Now record yourself saying them. Play this anytime you need to remember who you are. Bonus points for listening to them daily just before bed and right after you wake up while your brain is still in theta.

8) Visualize the BAG

Come up with a BAG (Big Audacious Goal) you want to secure in 2025. Visualize your life with said BAG secured. Whether it’s financial freedom, a loving partner, a new creative endeavor, a move or more free time to pursue side quests, etc., your goal should align with your core values and beliefs. Then ask: who do I need to become to make this happen? Remember, we attract what we are and what we believe in, so focus on becoming that version of you now.

9) Practice gratitude daily

Shift your focus to the good in your life. Gratitude helps you see solutions and invites more blessings your way. Stop judging others and situations negatively. No more ruminating on problems and telling all your friends and family about them. Start appreciating what is working. Staying in a state of appreciation attracts even more into your life to be grateful for. Quantum physics backs this—what you focus on expands.

Comprehensive Audible List: My Personal Self-Empowerment Library

In 2015 shortly after having my second child, I was at a cross-roads in my life. A lot of things seemed to be not working and I was ready to transcend my unfulfilling reality. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired, unhappy in my work and relationships, and feeling like I was being called to be a completely different version of myself as a woman, mother, and divine being.

As a pastor's kid and grandkid, this part of my journey led me back to church and deeper into biblical texts and Christian-based books. The more I read and listened to books about Jesus and spiritual freedom, the more I could see that something else was happening.. for the first time in my life I allowed myself to question my beliefs without shame or guilt. I was losing my religion, finding my truest self, and embracing deeper, bigger truths about my personal reality and everything/everyone around me.

This path led me to knowledge about fasting (which I will talk about in another post), meditating, giving up old ways of thinking, doing, and being. I embraced my unbecomin, my deprogramming, and the possibility that all I had learned in church/scripture growing up was merely part of a much bigger truth.

I don't remember exactly how I found Audible. Aside from indulging in several WWII books as a child, I was never really a big reader. Few topics were able to keep my attention, as I found myself getting bored or rereading the same lines over and over trying to process and remember. Audiobooks unlocked a whole new world for me. I started listening to them at work and in the car, and found myself more focused on tasks, less bored with my work, and growing into a more empowered version of myself all simultaneously.

Very early in my Audible journey, a good friend of mine and someone I respect greatly suggested the book The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo. If you've read The Alchemist, you know that although it is fiction, it contains a message of truth that calls for your spirit to realize itself. That is exactly what started to happen for me. After digesting this title, it was like I jumped into a rabbit hole of learning, healing, journeying through my spirit, finding love in the places that previously hurt, getting my sh*t together and embracing the notion that my life was about to radically change.

This was the beginning of a painful season of falling apart so I could ultimately become something greater. I want to share with you many of the titles I've listened to from 2016 to now, as they have impacted me in ways I may never have words to accurately describe. These books (in addition to those I physically read) carried me through myself, through my dark nights of the soul, through my triumphs over sadness and despair, and lifted my soul as no one or no thing ever had.

My personal Audible list contains a range of genres, not just self-help or books on spirituality. Some are novels, some financial how-to's, history, political memoirs, religious texts, regenerative agriculture, psychology, psychedelics etc. I've left out several business and niche-specific titles, though I may put together a separate list for those later. Together, they form a library of thought that comes together beautifully to assist in my unlearning and relearning. It's a fairly long list (90 titles currently), so I hope you find some wisdom here. As with anything I share, please take what resonates and leave what doesn't.

If you have already read or listened to any of these books, or if you do so after reading this, and were/are as deeply impacted as I, I'd love to hear from you in the comments. I'll update it semi-frequently to keep the list current.

Love, light, and truth to you all <3, Ladye
